Product details

The new OpenVox V100 transcoding series offers 3 models for different types of applications. Processing performance of up to 400 sessions, at both low and high density, as well as superior voice quality are achieved for various IP-PBX systems.

Because of their low bandwidth requirements, voice data compression codecs such as G.729, G.726, AMR, G.722, iLBC, etc., are commonly used in VoIP applications. The G.711 codec is commonly used in legacy telephone networks. Codec conversion is required for TDM-to-VoIP connections. Compared with software conversion, the Multicore-DSP-based V100 can convert more transcoding sessions, reducing the host server's CPU load.

The V100-PTMC card is designed to handle up to 32,64,128,256,400 bidirectional codec conversions, with no additional license fees for transcoding.

The V100-PTMC is a PMC for transcoding. It is also a PTMC that extends the PMC to support standard telecom and telephony interfaces. It can be used with a wide range of PCC, PT2CC, PT3CC, and PT5CC, and can provide CompactPCI/media control paths for the front panel Gbe/Backplane Gbe/Local CT. These features help reduce costs and support flexible applications.

The V100-PTMC can be used with Asterisk® and FreeSWITCH®. In addition, the media-message-based API facilitates development, as messages and media streams communicate between the host PCC and the V100-PTMC via the Ethernet interface.
